How to Set Up a UniFi Cloud Controller

Objective: Guide users through provisioning a Cloud‑hosted UniFi controller (via Cloud Key or cloud service).

Provision controller hardware/software –
- For Cloud Key: power through PoE, install Ubiquiti Discovery Tool, then adopt it via unifi.ubnt.com
- For cloud-hosted: follow wizard steps to create account, verify email, and establish DNS/inform records
Complete Setup Wizard – Configure admin account, network settings, and enable cloud remote access.
Verify connectivity – Confirm ports (8080, 8443, 8843, UDP 10001, 3478) are open.
Adopt devices – Controller shows devices ready for adoption—start with APs and switches.
Enable automatic backups – Recommended for production environments
